Builder's merchant TradePoint asked Five by Five to create a pair of Youtube pre-roll ads that would encourage tradespeople to sign up to their loyalty scheme. Each video had to showcase slightly different selling points, stay on brand and feature existing campaign assets that were being used for static ads. Once the storyboard was approved, the project was handed to me to create the video.
I can usually create this style of animation using only the assets provided by the client, combined with a selection of stock assets. However, for one particular scene I was unable to source a suitable piece of footage of a pound coin rotating. To solve this problem I created a makeshift greenscreen turntable and filmed a coin myself, which I could then composite and animate into my scene as desired.
