This animation was a simple little farewell gift to the team at Five by Five after my time working there. I wanted to incorporate their logo into a thank you message.

Although the animation begins with the Five by Five logo, I actually started by animating the letters so that I could see how many dots I would need, and where they all needed to start from. I used After Effects' Trim Paths tool to create several offset duplicates in the range of colours, making a rainbow trail effect.

Then I used more Trim Paths shapes to form the letters underneath the dot animations.

Each dot in the logo was animated manually to position them in exactly the right places they needed to be to begin the 'THANKS' animation.

The pulsing animation was achieved by animating the stroke width of the letters until it reached the edge of the composition, then duplicating and recolouring this with an offset.
